how many times do you weigh each day?

Ok let's be honest here, how many times a day do you jump on the scale. When I first got banded it was probably 9 or 10 times a day. I would weigh myself first thing in the morning, after soup, after a poop, in the middle of the night, basically any time I walked in the vicinity of the scale. I just wanted instant results.
Now I don't weigh myself quite so much but I do weigh often. First thing in the morning, and when I come home from work, and then right before I go to bed. I have figured out I am exactly 2 pounds lighter in the morning than I am at night. And my weight does fluctuate up and down a pound every other day or so. Why I don't know, and it is frustrating.
I don't know if the scale motivates me to do better or deters me from working harder. I think I am going to take a week off from the scale and see if that makes any difference. I mean I think it is like the saying a watched pot never boils. A watched scale never makes drastic moves.
How often do you weigh yourself?

  1. I'm a once a day girl, in the morning, after using the bathroom. If I forget and drink or eat something before I weight, then I skip it for that day. Even with all my dieting in the past, I've never been one to get on the scale more than once a day.

  2. I am like maria. I weigh myself in the morning after I use the bathroom. When I was doing my pre-op diet... I would weigh myself ALL the time. Now that I am post-op and I am consuming actual food...I know that my weight will def change.I hate when the scale differs between one and two pounds a day..

  3. It all depends. Normally I weigh every morning, but really only note my weight on Sunday mornings. I will sometimes weigh at night before going to bed. If I feel like a big poo is coming, I'll weigh before and after, just to see how big it was. But I don't put too much stock in what my weight is during the day as I know it will fluctuate greatly.

  4. Well missy...you need to join Scale Whores Anonymous! As the founder I still weigh at least once a day (AM), but only count it on Friday mornings (but I do note it if I've reached a goal or something of note happens).

    I keep forgetting to ask you about the LB books...I'm not going to read any of them until I'm done writing, but I've got a list of ones I started that I want to buy when I'm done so I'll know how to differentiate mine to publishers. Can you tell me the two books you found by LBers? I haven't seen any JUST by LBers (but I haven't spent a ton of time researching this yet), but I'm interested in reading through a lot of them when I get to that stage. Thanks! BG
